SiS635T overview
The single chipset, SiS635T, provides a high performance/low cost Desktop
solution for the Intel Slot 1 and socket 370 series CPUs, Celeron, P!!!, and
P!!!T, based system by integrating a high performance North bridge, a
Super-South bridge and an AGP4X Slot. SiS635T supports 3-DIMM with Double
Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM bandwidth up to 2.1 GB/s, or with traditional SDRAM
bandwidth up to 1.06 GB/s and also supports an AGP Slot that supports 4X
data transfers and Fast Write function.
The "Super-South Bridge" in SiS635T integrates rich peripheral
controllers/accelerators /interfaces and is compliant to PC2001.SiS635T
provides a total communication solution including 10/100Mb Fast Ethernet for
Office requirement and 1Mb/10Mb HomePNA for Home Networking
SiS635T offers AC'97 compliant interface and also provides interface to
Low Pin Count (LPC) operating at 33 MHz clock which is the same as PCI clock
on the host, and dual USB host controllers with six USB ports that deliver
better connectivity and 2 x 12Mb bandwidth. SiS635T supports up to 6 PCI
masters. In addition to the PIC, the super-south bridge also incorporates
I/O Advanced Programmable Interrupt controller.
The built-in fast IDE controller supports the ATA PIO/DMA, and the Ultra
DMA33/66/100 function that supports the data transfer rate up to 100 MB/s.
It provides the separate data path for two IDE channels that can eminently
improve the performance under the multi-tasking environment.
SiS635T provides one solution to resolve the lack of IO bandwidth for the
previous PC platform with PCI bus bandwidth only up to 133MB/s. SiS635T
applies the multithreaded architecture - "Build-in Multi-threaded IO Link"
to provide enough IO bandwidth up to 1.2GB/s and increase the hardware
parallelism. It will increase efficiently the system total throughput and
performance, especially for multi-tasking environment.
