The P5M3-A+ motherboard
is structured on Socket 7 spec, which can match AMD K6/K6-2/K6-III up to
450MHz internal frequency, Intel Pentium MMX up to 233MHz, and Cyrix MII
up to PR466. It can also support 512K L2 Cache and 100MHz system
frequency. The P5M3-A+ is equipped with VIA MVP3 AGP chipset and
integrating AC97 Audio Controller with MC97 upgrade through AMR.
The high flexibility of P5M3-A+ to support several different CPU can
not only provide users the various selections based on their needs, but
also offer users more economic and practical alternative to Intel CPU.
The 100MHz external FSB of P5M3-A+ enhances the CPU memory bandwidth and
reduces the CPU wait-state, and thus improve the system performance a
lot.
P5M3-A+ is designed with ATX form factor. It is equipped with 3
168-pin DIMM sockets, which supports traditional Fast Page, EDO RAM, and
up to 768MB of SDRAM with ECC capacity for the application of high-end
calculation. In the meantime, the non-synchronized setting between CPU
and SDRAM can enable users not to discard the original SDRAM while
upgrading CPU. Other features like Modem Ring-in and Wake Up On LAN
increases the versatility of power. And, 1 AMR (Audio Modem Riser Card),
5 PCI slots and 1 ISA slot maximize I/O expandability; 2 x Ultra DMA/66
IDE ports support up to 66MB/sec data transfer rate. The Hardware
Monitoring design allows users to self-diagnose CPU temperature, CPU fan
speed and voltage. Moreover, 1 x MIDI/game port, Audio connector likes
Line Out, Line In, and Mic. In are available for multimedia
applications.
P5M3-A+ is bundled free with Trend PC-Cillin Anti-virus Software
expanding the scope to all system and strengthen the anti-virus ability.
By applying the above-mentioned software, users can both detect and
destroy the virus to protect data integration. HighPoint X-store Pro Bus
Master IDE driver can upgrade the system performance especially for hard
disk.
