The P5M4-A VIA MVP4 ATX
mainboard for Pentium MMX class CPU to provide the most cost effective
solution for entry level PC segment
P5M4-A is based on VIA Apollo MVP4 AGPset that consists of the
VT82C501 Share Memory Architecture (SMA) north bridge and the VT82C686
Super South bridge. The MVP4 integrates an AGP 2.0 compliant Trident
Blade 3D based 2D/3D AGP graphics with DVD video playback capability
into the north bridge of the chipset. The VIA VT82C686 south bridge
integrates AC-97 audio with SoundBlaster Pro and FM synthesis legacy
support, super I/O and hardware monitoring circuitry.
P5M4-A is based on ATX form factor and supports 66/75/83/95/100MHz
CPU FSB for Pentium MMX class CPU. It supports AMD K6-2/K6-3 up to
450MHz . 3x168-pin DIMM Sockets supports up to 768MB SDRAM with ECC
capability. Modem Ring-in and Wake Up On LAN increases the versatility
of power on feature. 1 AMR (Audio Modem Riser Card), 5 PCI, 2 ISA slots
maximize I/O expandability. 2 x Ultra DMA/66 IDE ports support up to
66MB/sec data transfer rate. Hardware monitoring design allows users to
self-diagnose CPU temperature, CPU fan speed and voltage. 1 x MIDI/game
port, Audio connector likes Line Out, Line In, and Mic. In are available
for multimedia applications.
It is bundled free with Trend® PC-Cillin 98 Anti-virus Software
to strengthen the anti-virus ability for whole PC system. By using
X-store Bus Master IDE driver, it increases Hard Disk performance up to
60% and system performance up to 10%.
