P6BX-A(n)
"Instantly Available" PC
technology
P6BX-A Intel® 440BX ATX Mainboard for 100MHz FSB Pentium®
II & III CPU, with *ESS Solo1 PCI Sound Chip onboard and Suspend to
RAM feature
|
The P6BX-A and P6BX-An Intel 440BX ATX mainboards are with
"Instantly Available" PC technology. This technology is a
technique allowing the PC to operate like an appliance by implementing
the ¨Suspend to RAM 〃 feature,
which allows the PC to enter a power-saving ¨sleep state〃
during idle
periods and resume operation in a matter of seconds. The P6BX-A and
P6BX-An are the first mainboard with the IA ("Instantly
Available") platform.
The P6BX-A and P6Bx-An have added one GAL to support 5 PCI slots;
even a PCI device is already equipped onboard. This is the most unique
feature of the mainboard that differentiates it from those of other
suppliers. Together with one AGP slot, and two ISA slots, the P6BX-A(n)
maximizes I/O expandability. It is compatible with ATA/66 HDD. Three
168-pin DIMM sockets support up to 768MB of SDRAM with ECC capability.
Keyboard Power On, Modem Ring-in, and Wake Up On LAN increase the
versatility of the Power On feature. The Hardware Monitoring design
allows users to self-diagnose CPU temperature, CPU fan speed and
voltage.
The P6BX-A is designed with the ESS Solo1 PCI Sound Chip on board to
support software wavetable. One MIDI/game port, and an Audio connector
line (line out, line in, and mic. In) are available for multimedia
applications. This feature can be fully disabled if users prefer to use
their own sound card. The color codes for connectors on the back panel
assure users easy installation, and meet Microsoft PC99 requirements. If
users prefer one without sound support, P6BX-An is the choice.
The P6BX-A comes with Trend PC-Cillin 98 Anti-virus Software to
strengthen the anti-virus ability for the entire PC system. By using
X-store Bus Master IDE driver, Hard Disk performance is increased by up
to 60% and system performance is increased by up to 10%.
