The VIA Apollo KT133A chipset adds an ultra-fast 266MHz Front Side Bus and
support for second generation PowerNow! technology to the market-leading
VIA Apollo KT133, providing a powerful and highly scaleable solution for a
complete range of AMD Athlon™ and AMD Duron™ processors. The VIA Apollo
KT133A chipset provides motherboard manufacturers and OEMs with a seamless
path for upgrading existing Socket A product designs to take full
advantage of the enhanced performance of the latest AMD Athlon™ processors
with a 266MHz Front Side Bus running at speeds up to 1.33GHz.

Featuring flexible 266/200MHz Front Side Bus settings, the VIA Apollo
KT133A is designed to optimise the performance of a complete range of AMD
Athlon™ and AMD Duron™ processors, including the latest generation of AMD
Athlon™ processors with a 266MHz Front Side Bus. Through its advanced
memory controller architecture, the VIA Apollo KT133A chipset supports up
to 1.5GB of high-speed PC133 SDRAM and VC133 DRAM. These leading-edge
memory technologies provide the bandwidth and performance necessary for
even the most demanding Internet and 3D graphics applications.
The ATA
33/66/100 interface on the VIA Apollo KT133A chipset helps boost system
performance by providing a high-speed connection to the new generation of
ATA100 Hard Disk Drives, delivering maximum sustained data transfer rates
of 100MB/sec.
