The VIA Apollo P4X266 is the first chipset to harness the power of high bandwidth DDR SDRAM to provide the most balanced and cost effective platform for building the next generation of high performance Intel® Pentium® 4 processor based servers, workstations, and PC systems.

The VIA Apollo P4X266 is the most powerful, cost effective, and flexible chipset solution available for Intel® Pentium® 4 processor based platforms. Its ultra-fast 400MHz Front Side Bus combined with support for up to 4GB of high-speed DDR266 SDRAM fully exploit the processor's high bandwidth, yielding truly exceptional performance across the full range of applications while leveraging the cost benefits and reliability of SDRAM architecture. System responsiveness is further enhanced by the chipset's high speed V-Link bus, which doubles communication bandwidth between the North and South Bridge to 266MB per second.

The VIA Apollo P4X266 also supports PC133 SDRAM to provide the scalability that OEMs and System Integrators need to build systems spanning a complete spectrum of price points using a single platform. In addition to a host of performance features such as AGP4X and ATA 100 support, the P4X266 features an integrated 3Com 10/100Mb Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC) in the VT8233C South Bridge to make it the optimum chipset for network ready desktop solutions. Additional features include integrated AC'97 audio, MC'97 modem support, 6 USB ports, and Advanced Power Management
